Supporting Weaknesses

Supporting weaknesses:

We are often told of the importance of developing our strengths but I would also add its equally as important for you to become more aware of and tackle your weaker areas in parallel. Sometimes we just have to learn how to do something to an acceptable performance level or to mitigate its negative impact. If we take for example that you often find it difficult to complete a specific task in its entirety. In that case, you need to ensure that you get enough of that task or project completed for it to be acceptable or find others (who feel energised by this) to help you to get things over the line. In this instance, you could apply the Pareto 80/20 rule - List your vital tasks that are most important in delivering success. Choose to focus 20% of your time to get these tasks done right and due to their importance, you will find that completing those vital tasks will produce 80% of your outcome. It’s only a real issue if you take an inactive approach in addressing your weaknesses. We are all human and we all have them!
